BBAC’s Endeavors Honored with the 2013 Lebanese Rural Development Award
BBAC has been awarded the social economic prize in the 'Rural Development' category in the third Social Economic Awards (SEA). The prize commends the Live Lebanon initiative, a partnership between BBAC and the UNDP, which aims to foster social development works to improve Lebanon’s most impoverished areas.
The event, held in the Ambassadors' Room at the Lebanon Casino, was organized by "First Protocol" in collaboration with the Central Bank of Lebanon, the Association of Banks in Lebanon, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, the Lebanese Franchise Association, the Lebanese Businessmen Association, as well as several private companies .
BBAC’s Chairman-General Manager, Mr. Ghassan Assaf, accepted the award and thanked the crowd. “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the UNDP in the Live Lebanon initiative, which has made possible over 15 projects in areas most in need. We have implemented works in some of the most rural and remote areas of Lebanon, cementing our mission of social responsibility”. Mr. Assaf also added: “BBAC understands the responsibility it bears as a Lebanese financial institution and will continue to apply our motto of care in everything we do for years to come”. He concluded by thanking the UNDP, who have been sturdy partners in BBAC’s mission to improve Lebanon, as well as all BBAC staffers involved in the activities of the Live Lebanon initiative.
