› How do I apply for a BBAC plastic card?
To apply for BBAC credit card, you can apply online or through any BBAC branches. Once you have submitted your application form, on approval you will recieve your new card and PIN number.
To apply for BBAC debit card, you can visit any BBAC branch and complete the application process.
› In what currency are BBAC plastic cards issued?
BBAC credit cards are issued in USD currency only except BBAC euro card, which is issued in EUR currency.
BBAC debit cards are issued in USD and LBP currencies.
› What do I do if my card has become damaged?
You should visit your nearest BBAC branch, hand in the damaged card and fill out a request for a replacement card.
› How and where do I change my PIN number?
You should visit your nearest BBAC branch to fill out a request for new PIN number.
› Can I transfer funds using my BBAC credit card account?
No, you can not transfer funds to and from your BBAC credit card.
› Can I use internet banking to manage my BBAC credit card account?
No, but through BBAC online banking you can report a lost card.
› How can I report a lost or stolen card?
You can report that your card has been lost or stolen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling BBAC call center on 04-727747 or BBAC plastic cards and e-banking customer support on 01-374174. Once reported, we will stop the card immediately so no unauthorized charges can be made and the branch will issue a replacment of the lost / stolen card upon your request.
If you are overseas and need an urgent card replacment, a new card will be issued by your branch upon your request and sent to you by DHL at your own expense.
Be sure to notify BBAC as soon as possible or you may be liable for unauthorised use.
› What do I do if the ATM retains my card?
You can call BBAC call center on 04727747 or BBAC plastic cards and e-banking customer support on 01-374174 to stop the card and visit the bank or BBAC branch where your card has been retained.
› Can all BBAC plastic cards be used for internet purchases?
BBAC debit cards can only be used in ATM machines and at Point of Sale terminals (POS).
For security reasons, BBAC has decided to restrict the use of Internet purchases with BBAC platinum card and BBAC gold card. As for the rest of the credit cards, you may use them to purchase online but it is not recommended by the bank due to high risk of online fraud.
However, you can apply for BBAC internet number especially designed for online purchases with a low limit that restricts your liabiliy to pay for fraudulent charges.
› Will BBAC charge me for a fee if I use my credit card overseas?
For cash transactions overseas, you will be charged a minimum $5 or 1.9% per transaction.
For retail transactions overseas, your transactions are FREE of charge.
› How can I dispute a charge on my card?
If you wish to dispute a transaction appearing on your billing statment, you can visit any of our BBAC branches with a copy of your statment and details of the transaction.
› What do I do if I want to make an insurance claim?
If you are overseas, all claims should be reported to MAPFREE Asistencia (Gulf assist: +973 17 218899). When you arrive in Lebanon, you should present the necessary documents to your branch.
› When is my billing statement issued?
Billing statements for the MasterCard cards are issued on the 15th of each month.
Billing statements for the Visa cards are issued on the 25th of each month.
Billing statement of BBAC euro card are issued on the 5th of each month.
The statment will clearly list all transactions performed on your card during the period and show the outstanding balance, your available limit, minimum repayment amount and the due date for payment.
› What is the outstanding balance on the billing statement?
The amount you have charged on your credit card and currently owe the bank.
› What is a grace period?
All BBAC credit cards have 45 days grace period or interest free period. The interest free day period consists of your 30 - day statement cycle then 15 days to the due date.
› What is a minimum payment?
It is the minimum amount that you need to pay to the bank by the due date. It is equivalent to a minimum of 5% of your total outstanding balance or $30, whichever is greater.
› What is an over-the-limit fee?
A fee charged when your credit card limit, which is the maximum that the bank will allow you to borrow on your card, is exceeded. This fee can be avoided by always staying within the credit limit.
› What is a late payment fee?
A late payment fee is charged when the minimum payment has not been received prior or as of the due date for payment as shown on the billing statment.
